as i wait for the bell to ring

i think about my favorite things

that could get me through this lesson

none of this makes any sense 

i really deserve the recompense 

for this guy wasting my time again

i’m oh so bored

would much rather do chores

anything to get me out of here

but wait?

what’s that?

my ears perk up 

now i’m truly sat

i can honestly say that…i got that

what he said 

it really rang true

that “at the end of the day

i’m here for you”

no one else

has made this time

no one else has spent a dime

to make sure that I shine

so i guess now i’ll just listen in

i may still not get everything

but i know now if i rock with him

it’ll be the beginning of some new things
